		<description>CURB
(2013)

A simple bar designed to elevate laptops and portable computers, in order to enhance ergonomics, increase airflow, and reduce internal and ambient heat. With the profile of a scalene triangle, the Curb accommodates for two different degrees of elevation, depending on the viewing preference of the user. A small cutout provides a resting point for a power adaptor when unplugged, preventing slipping cables. Produced out of TPE, the Curb is non-slip and provides a portable stand that can fit into any bag.

Available for purchase soon...

		<description>KINCROME FOLDABLE UTILITY KNIFE

Utility knives are one of Kincrome's highest sellers. The project was to add to the range by designing a plastic handle that could be produced at a low cost, yet communicate a professional quality brand.

The resulting design maximises ergonomic comfort with a contoured body, features a rope cutter, and enchances grip with raised surfaces. The curved silhouette fits comfortably into the palm of varying hand sizes.

Produced out of ABS.

Designed by jonliow and Kincrome Australia

		<description>AQUAHEX
(2012)

A concept collaboration with Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum of Dubai and GreatPoint Ventures (greatpointventures.com)

The Aquahex is an expansion of the Waterdome concept. The vision was to enlarge the concept of floating, solar desalination units, and incorporate them into a modular, expandable system - utilising modern portable desalination technology.

The Aquahex system consists of two units: a Waterhex and a Solarhex. The Waterhexes (white) are used to generate drinkable water from seawater. The Solarhexes (black) are used as energy extensions, absorbing additional solar energy to boost the efficiency of the Waterhexes. The network of the Aquahexes can be as large or as small as required. The Waterhexes can also work as independent units with their own independent solar panels.

Each unit is designed to fit into a twenty foot container and requires minimal setup, utilising snap fits and universal joinery. Manufacturing costs are also minimised through the use of modular parts and componentry.

		<description>KINCROME FOLDABLE UTILITY KNIFE

The humble utility knife has been one of Kincrome's top sellers over the past decade. The project brief was to take the existing, traditionally styled knife and integrate the angled contours and edgy brand aesthetic that Kincrome has come to adopt in recent years.

The resulting concept highlights this new aesthetic, while retaining ergonomic comfort and handling; and incorporates Kincrome's patented 'quick change blade' system, lockback mechanism and japanese-styled SK5 blades. Knurled surfaces are used to break up the design and provide increased grip when operating with wet or greasy hands.

Produced out of aluminium and stainless steel.

		<description>CROSSROADS
(2011)

Client: Teletronix Australia

Guitar effects manufacturer Teletronix devised a new unit - 'Crossroads' - which enables users to connect several guitar pedals to one central power source, eliminating cable mess and multiple power cords as commonly experienced by professional guitar players.

Teletronix required a custom-designed housing for their new unit. The idea was to retain the classic, clean look of a traditional stompbox - whilst adding the stylistic elements of the bold, retro aesthetic made popular during the 50s era of classic rock.

Produced out of polycarbonate, ABS and steel.

		<description>POMODOROGON
(2012)

The “Pomodoro” technique is a time management tool that is used to increase productivity and efficiency in the workplace. It breaks down workflow into several key elements: planning, tracking, recording, processing and visualizing. The technique uses a time breakdown in order to encourage efficiency: 4 working periods (each 25 minutes) with 5 minutes of rest in between. At the end of the fourth period, an extended break of 25 minutes is allowed before starting the cycle again.

The Pomodorogon focuses on the visual and tracking aspects of this technique, creating visual and physical connections through object and movement with the pomodoro workflow. The user rotates the shape at the beginning and end of each interval. 8 sides, 8 periods of time. when the unit is on a number: 25 minutes of work. when the unit is on the arrow: 5 minutes of rest. The arrow after the fourth working period signifies the extended 25 minute break.

The pomodorogon enhances the visual and physical aspects of the technique, using an action and visual cue to create a rhythmic working pattern. It's also double-sided, so you can take it to a pomodoro group, or sit opposite a like-minded co-worker.
